How do You Build a Startup?

Cyber X Idea Lab

Do you have ideas within cybersecurity or future-oriented technology?
Cyber X Idea Lab helps you explore and test those ideas in an early-stage startup context.

Cyber X Idea Lab is a six-week, free, preparatory startup idea program focused on cybersecurity and future-oriented technology, with one two-hour on-site session per week.

The program is delivered in Karlstad, Sweden, and combines in-person sessions with local collaboration. It also includes a study visit to CCIS – Center for Cyber and Information Security at NTNU in Gjøvik, Norway.

Cyber X Idea Lab provides a structured setting for testing ideas and understanding what early-stage startup development involves.

Who is the program for?

Cyber X Idea Lab is for you if you:

  • are curious about entrepreneurship and want to understand what early-stage startup work involves

  • have an idea you want to explore further

  • are interested in cybersecurity or future-oriented technology

  • want to take a first step towards building a startup, without prior experience

The program is open to students, researchers, and professionals from both the private and public sector. You can join on your own or together with others.

How does the program work?

Cyber X Idea Lab is built around hands-on exploration and learning through practice.

During the program, participants work closely with experienced mentors, business developers, and domain experts to test ideas, discuss challenges, and reflect on different possible directions.

The program also connects participants to a broader ecosystem. In addition to the on-site sessions in Karlstad, it includes a study visit to Norway, where participants meet peers and actors within cybersecurity and innovation.

Cyber X Idea Lab is designed as a bridge between early ideas and potential next steps, such as further development within incubator or accelerator programs in Sweden or Norway.
